ジョン・ウイリアムズ初の長編映画「一番美しい夏」(100分/2001)上映会
上映後、ウイリアムズ監督の話
両親も手を焼くコギャルが、田舎での生活の中で出会った痴呆を患う老婦人との関係を通し成長していく姿を描いた青春ドラマ。監督・脚本は、本作が初の劇場用作品となるジョン・ウイリアムズ。撮影を早野嘉伸が担当している。主演は、真帆.南美江、にわつとむ。2001年カルロヴィ・ヴァリ国際映画祭NETPAC賞受賞作品。ハワイ国際映画最優賞.

16.30 – 17.30：詩のワークショップ、 四元康弘
北鵜島と真更川の風物、伝承文化、そこに暮らす人々の生活やその死生観を描いた現代能。佐渡という場所の稀有な固有性と世界に開かれた普遍性を、舞踏（遊舞舎）と詩（四元康祐）と音楽（sofabed)で寿ぎます。

野染：一緒に北鵜島のたぬき祭りのはたを染めよう！
京都を拠点とする染色作家・デザイナーの齋藤博は、テキスタイルを専門とし天然染料のみを使用する。彼のパフォーマンス的な集団染色は大人も子供も楽しめる。植物から色彩を創り出すために集おう！

第2回たぬき祭りの閉幕を記念して、遊歩舎が海辺の屋外ステージにて、オリジナルコンテンポラリーダンスを披露します。

Screening of “Firefly Dreams” (100 min./ 2001)
Followed by a short talk by the director.
A bittersweet coming of age story about the friendship between a rebellious teenager and an older woman who was a rebel in her youth in a very different time. John Williams’ first feature was shot in Horai Cho and Nagoya in 1999 and released in cinemas in Japan in 2001. It screened in over 40 festivals and won 6 awards, including the Best Feature Award at The Hawaii International Film. JAPANESE/NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES

15:00～16:30：Modern Noh play「Kitaushima・Masaragawa Suite」
16:30～17:30：Poetry Workshop、Yasuhiro Yotsumoto
A reading and performance of a modern Noh play based on a cycle of poems by Yasuhiro Yotsumoto, one of Japan’s leading contemporary poets. Yotsumoto is joined by electronic musician, Neji, from sofabed and contemporary dance unit, Yubusha, to bring to life the legends and stories of Kitaushima and Masragawa.

Acoustic Live by “takeshiwo”
Members: Yasunori Henmi and Nagao “Pierre” Kazumi
Rock musician Yasunori Henmi was last seen on Sado when he was exiled there in 1472, or some say, when he played the role of the exiled singer in Sado Tempest. With his long-time collaborator Pierre, they will perform an acoustic set in the Masaragawa Community Hall. Henmi won the Best Original Song Award at the Muses Film Awards in Greece, for his songs in the movie, Another Time (Tabi.)

Outside Dyeing Event (Hiroshi Saito・Kaze Kobo)
Let's dye the flag of Kitaushima Tanuki Matsuri together!
Kyoto-based dye artist and designer Hiroshi Saito works in textiles and uses only natural dyes. His performative collective dyeing is fun for adults and children, as we gather to create art and color from plants.

(Just look to your right as you come through the tunnel and you will see the performance stage.)
To mark the close of the 2nd Tanuki Matsuri, Yubusha will perform an original contemporary dance outside on the stage near the sea’s edge.
